Here I Am, Lord

Here I am, Lord,
Folded in awe.
Girded for travel
To places undesirable
With heartfelt contentment
Like none before,
Tugged at by joy tears for the faces
Of those who found pasture
Nudged by Your Spirit
And the sweat off my brow.

Here I am, Lord,
Alone and cold,
Warmed by internal fire -
Love's thaw.
Blinding visions dance
Hand in hand
Sprinkled through a lifetime like trailmarks
Of words and images
Leaving indelible impressions
Upon my gaping mind.

Here I am, Lord,
Waiting,
Waiting silently,
Not departing,
Pained but not in despair.
I am undivided
Here like this.
None can strip me of my Word
Our Word
Your Word.
