a sharp corner is planted
to rouse the sleeper
from bed-sores and delirium,
and so we awaken to the light
pre-placed there to meet,
and had we not been roused
would have missed.
In His blessed wisdom
a twist is placed
that the wanderers
looks for the Gatherer,
and although, amidst darkness,
we often mistake another for Him,
a thorn has been pre-placed there
to drive us home.
In His blessed wisdom
a jab is given the isolator
who waits for another
to crave a bond immovable,
yet the waiting must end
as the jabs do not stop
and the only escape found
is deepening friendship.
In His blessed wisdom
a fire is lit below
so that those who dig for food
are mildly burned instead,
and a reminder is pre-placed
for we who've been burned
that sustainance is of heaven
and the rain falls again.
